Kanigara is a small cafe in the heart of Braga. That means that it’s just a tourist trap, right? No. It’s a great little cafe that doesn’t take itself too seriously and limits itself to serving coffee and croissants. But it does that really, really well.

It opened only a few months ago, but the staff are amazingly friendly, and that’s saying something in Indonesia, where everyone is amazingly friendly.

I was able to while away many hours in the Air Conditioned other world of Kanigara, put together many of these blog posts, and get great advice on food and nightlife and practical items of living in Bandung.

They have great taste in music (Frank Sinatra and many, many renditions of jazz standards are on the playlist) and they welcome people to stay for extended periods of time, work, play, chat, and have a great time.
